Taize Worship Service

Taize is held the third Sunday of each month at 7:00 pm. It is a service of prayers, songs, and silences.

Our sanctuary is transformed with low lights and dozens of flickering candles. In the spring and fall, the long rays of the sun spill colors across this sacred space. In the winter it is warmth in the darkness. We gather for private worship. The silence is deep, and no microphones or spot lights are needed to hear the word of God spoken from the shadows, or to follow the singers as they lead us in simple beautiful songs. Each of us fades in and out with our own thoughts and prayers. The Irish call this experiencing the Thin Place—as close to God as we mortals can touch.

Why attend?

“Prayer is a serene force at work within human beings, stirring them up, transforming them, never allowing them to close their eyes in the face of evil, of wars, of all that threatens the weak of this world. From it we draw the energy to wage other struggles—to enable our loved ones to survive, to transform the human condition, to make the earth a fit place to live”

-Brother Roger of Taize

Note: Monthly Taize and walking of our labyrinth go on hiatus each summer. There is no service June, July & August.
