Amy Piatt, Senior Minister » Arriving June 1, 2012 »

We are thrilled to announce that on Sunday, March 4, 2012, Portland First Christian Church congregation members voted to call Amy Piatt of Pueblo, Colorado as our new Senior Minister. The call came after unanimous votes of the Search Committee, Executive Committee, Budget and Finance Committee, the Official Board, and a unanimous vote at the Congregational meeting.

The call of Amy Piatt and creation of a job position for her talented and creative husband Christian was the result of 9 months of effort on the part of the Search Committee interviewing over 40 different candidates from all over the nation. Christian has been hired as part-time staff, heading up growth and development at First Christian Church to help grow the reach and presence of the congregation in the community.

Amy received her Master of Divinity from Brite Divinity School at TCU. She and her husband co-founded Milagro Christian Church in 2004 in Pueblo and she has served as Senior Pastor of that church helping it grow from only a handful at its beginning to where today there are between 80 and 120 in worship weekly. Amy described herself in the ministerial profile she sent our church as “a lover of people, a prophetic preacher, a motivator, an encourager, and a visionary. I am willing to speak courageously and I strive to listen actively on
behalf of those I serve.” We are ecstatic to start this relationship with the Piatt family.

Amy and Christian are the parents of two young children: Mattias, age 8, and Zoe, age 3. Everyone will get better acquainted with Amy and her family when they move to Portland on June 1 to begin her ministry.

We welcome the entire Piatt family and this beautiful opportunity for their family, for the congregation, and for the community.
