The evening features a program by our own Dr. John McComb, reporting on his 2011 mission trip providing dental care in southern India. The evening also includes an authentic Indian dinner.

During the 10 o’clock hour we will have a special Prayer Event, “Prayer for the New Year.” It will be an opportunity to take some time to pray. This event will be held in the Brides Room.

To submit requests, you may use the cards that are available in the pews and/or Prayer Force forms on the table in the Narthex. The submission deadline for prayer requests is noon on Thursday, December 29.

On New Year’s Sunday, January 1, 2012, the Parlor/Brides Room will be open from 9:45 am until 11:15 am so you may come and go at your convenience to pray during that time. If you are unable to attend, but would like the prayer list, please contact the office at 503-228-9211.

With the Advent season almost upon us, we are looking forward to one of our favorite traditions – the Taste of Home. You know how it works: we decorate the fellowship area all Christmas-y and provide drinks, plates and napkins. That’s the “Home” part. For the “Taste,” you provide finger food (bite-sized pieces, please; this isn’t lunch!). As much as some of us like our chocolate, we encourage you to include some non-sweets in your contributions, too. Please bring your food (already on Christmas platters if possible) to the kitchen by 9:30 am, so that we can get things plated and on the tables by 10:00 am. And don’t forget to dress Christmas-y, too (or maybe Advent-y – in purple).
