FCC is having an Elvis party! A live appearance of “the King”, live entertainment, games for everyone (young and old), and maybe a surprise or two! Light “Elvis” refreshments of mac & cheese, peanut butter & banana sandwiches, and other “good stuff.” The fun begins at 6:30 pm on Friday, June 3 in the Multipurpose Room.

The 20 Somethings social has been moved to Sunday, June 12 at 7:00 pm in the Multipurpose Room. This will be a going away party for Mark & Heather Schlessman. The 20 Somthing group will have some friendly team competition in a variety of games that even unskilled people like me can play. Our basketball hoops have arrived, so we will try our hand at shooting a basket, play some volleyball (higher net this time), paper airplane flying contest, and some other stuff that should be fun. Hope to see all the 20 Somethings there, Jim & Vickie Edwards.

The June read ahead book is “South of Broad” by Pat Conroy. (Please note the group will meet on a Wednesday this month not the regular Tuesday.)

Peter Zisa and Friends perform for the benefit of the hungry, the helpless, and the destitute. On Sunday, May 22 at 3:00 pm in the Sanctuary at First Christian Church, their music will be dedicated to the hapless victims of the triple disaster in Japan. Our deepest thanks go to each of you for having a heart for our sisters and brothers across the ocean.
A free will offering will be taken. One hundred percent of the money donated will go directly to relief and comfort of disaster victims in Japan.

The general meeting for the CW/CMF will be held on Wednesday, May 25 at 11:00 am in the Multimedia Room. For only $5, all are invited to attend our luncheon at noon. After the luncheon there will be a musical program “Songs of Love” presented by Becky Callas Schlicher. Becky is a former member of our congregation and the daughter of Betty Hesketh.
