Fall/Winter Sunday Worship Schedule

Beginning Sunday, September 26, 2010 First Christian Church goes back to its Fall/Winter Sunday Worship Schedule. Worship services are held on Sundays at 9:00 am and 11:00 am in the Sanctuary. Sunday School Classes for all ages begin at 10:00 am.

Sacred Harp Singing School – October 2

Shape Note Singing from the Sacred Harp: an All Day Singing School Hosted by First Christian Church and facilitated by the Portland Sacred Harp (PoSH) open to all, regardless of musical training or ability. Contact the church office for more information at 503-228-9211.
9AM Showing of the movie “Awake My Soul” The story of the Sacred Harp
Pastries and coffee/tea are provided
10:30 am – Noon: Traditional Singing School, including the history and current practice of the
Sacred Harp tradition.
Noon – 1pm: Potluck lunch. (Bring a dish to share, as you are able.)
1pm – 3pm: More singing!

Church Ladies come get to know each other outside of the Church. This event is aimed for the over 21 years old crowd, but childcare can be arranged. Bring your favorite appetizer and beverage.
