The contemporary worship service is held every Saturday at 6:00 pm in our multimedia room. This service includes praise songs, communion, and discussion. The entire family is welcome and children are encouraged to stay through the service.

We welcome all persons into the life of the church regardless of age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or mental or physical ability.
Sunday Worship Services
9:00 am
The early worship service at First Christian Church features piano accompanied singing and weekly performances of the Joyful Noise Choir. All believers are invited to share in communion around a common table and to join in the closing circle.
11:00 am
Late worship follows a more traditional approach to worship, with organ music, and a full Sanctuary Choir. All believers are invited to participate in communion, as the juice and bread is passed.
“Camping in the Heart of the City” Community Playdate: (1 day vacation bible school)

On Wednesday, November 11, 2009, First Christian Church will hold a ‘Community Playdate’, a 1 day vacation bible school. We will be “Camping in the Heart of the City”, with a focus on nature in the Pacific Northwest. There are two sessions: 9:00 am-Noon and 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. Lunch is from Noon-1:00 pm. This is for children birth through 5th grade. Please contact the church office for more information and to register at 503-228-9211.
Animals of the Bible Advent Calendar Raffle

Want to win a beautiful handmade Advent calendar? For $10 you have a chance to win! The calendar has painstakingly been made by church members, each animal is listed in the Bible (and the even tell you where), and the animals are adorable. The proceeds of the raffle tickets will go to the purchase of stools, potty chairs, booster seats, and highchairs. The winner will be announced Monday, November 24, 2009. Activities are planned throughout the week: Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 pm “Focus on Service”; Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 6:00 pm”‘We’ in Wednesday, Chili Cook-off”; Friday, Oct. 23 at 7:00 pm“Focus on Spiritual Preparation” A Guided Meditation & at 8:00 pm A Labyrinth Walk”; Saturday, Oct. 24 at 6:00 pm “Contemporary Worship Service” & at 7:30 pm “Joyful Noise and Sanctuary Choir Concert”; and Sunday, Oct. 25 at 10:00 am “Cake Celebration & media presentation of FCC history” & at noon “A Potluck & media presentation of FCC history”.

Extended Session-Both Services
The children will have their annual Halloween party during both Extended Sessions, with a parade during the Sunday School hour. Be sure to dress your children in their Halloween attire. There will be prizes awarded for their costumes. Come for a fun and memorable experience.
